Workshop: Shamanism and Technoscience in Transcultural Experiments

The purpose of the workshop is to explore the aesthetic and political implications of three transcultural experiments that have taken place in the past few years envolving a new kind of collaboration between Europeans, Brazilians and Yanomami, an indigenous people living in Amazonia. In every case, in order to create an opera, a film and an article on Yanomami drawings, what mattered was not the representation of the indigenous perspective in our own’s, but rather the opening of a non-assymetrical dialogue between different ontologies and epistemologies.
